House Keeping

Congratulations to Liam for hosting Kaz over the holidays. You have shown amazing curiousity, compassion, problem solving, patience and thinking skills over the course of this Term, great effort and well done.

I am still waiting on some Learning Journals that are yet to come to school. Please return them after the holidays. 

If you're interested in taking your child to The Rainbow Fish. It's a great story around the concept of friendship. 

The Parent Helper sign up sheets have been placed in the Parent Helper Google Folder. Please add your name to the experience that interests you. Next term we have the following experiences:

Mondays: Make and Take (1:00 - 1:35pm)

Wednesdays: Morning Mystery Reader (8:30 - 8:40am)

Thursdays: Sandpit Creators (1:00 - 1:30pm)

Fridays: Afternoon Mystery Reader (1:30 - 1:40pm)

Parents with hidden talents (I know you're out there) please email me personally with your talents and we'll organise a time for you to work with a small group of children at some point during Term 3. 

Just because I'm so proud of our class and want you to know how wonderful they are. I thought I'd share with you over the past two weeks I've had so many comments from their teachers to say how wonderful our children have been. Well Done ReJ!

Making Games

Mrs Marschall took a few children to our life sized chess set. Mrs Marschall posed the question "What pieces do you think are the most important?" These children concluded the bigger the piece the more important it was and proceeded to arrange the pieces by 'protecting' the bigger pieces using the smaller pieces. 

The Airport Is Open

In preparation for our Easter Break the children have been talking about all the exciting places they are visiting, because of this we have made our very own REJ 'Changi Airport'. 

                          

We are going to leave the airport open for when our children return. Please keep any travel documents and boarding passes that may be used for the airport. 

Making Passports

You can't go to the airport without a passport! We have been looking at the different passports from the nationalities represented in our class. It's been a very interesting experience for some children. 

Name making with different materials

Working with wire was very popular with some children in our class last week. We kept it as a material this week to manipulate into the shapes in our names. 

Testing our planes

There have been some very interesting planes made this week. The task was to create a plane that would fly accurately through one of the two hoops at the end of our runway. There were failures, modifications, consultations and successes for most of the plane engineers.
