Term 1 Week 3

During morning meeting today we discovered that the numbers on our calendar had gone missing. During our choice time this morning a few children worked together to write out new numbers for our calendar.

Today was the first day we were able to take books home. We learnt how to borrow by swapping out the card in the book with our name card. Enjoy the books at home.

Today was our first Discovery Time with another class. Our class and the green class enjoyed exploring our classroom spaces, our Pod and the sandpit. Our class's favourite place seems to be the sandpit area. 

This group of children started incorporating bamboo and wood into their play. They worked collaboratively to first make a bridge and then a house, eventually creating a bonfire and a campsite.
During their play concepts of 'wetness' and 'dryness' were discussed as the children used water to "dry the sand".

Very quick day today. We did manage to get time to explore our provocations and work together in PE.

We were introduced to the Ipads today. We explored the possibilities of Drawing Pad. It was lovely to see collaboration between the members in our class.

We had our class photos today. Everyone was so patiently waiting for their turn in front of the camera.

During Pod Time today some children explored what they could see on the globe...

"I can see some water"
"I can see Australia"
"I'm painting the world"
"It's a all around the world"
"Islands"

While others worked together to build a house after reading a story about stages of building a house.
